We've had this dryer over a month. It took a bit of trial and error to find a setting that completely dries the clothes. I find that using the timed dry mode works best. It did start squeaking a little a couple days ago but it has stopped. I think it might have been the belt but apparently it resolved the issue on it's own.

Purchased a matching washer and dryer set two years ago. After warranty expired, it was uncovered that there was a crack in the drum, which was never diagnosed. By this time, the warranty had completely expired and I was on the hook for a repair roughly 75% of the cost of a new unit. After months and months of constant knocking and loud noises, including damage to the belt and motor, I was forced to purchase the exact same dryer brand new to maintain a matching set. Never again will I buy appliances from this company or the retailer. The retailer had no problem, honoring the warranty calls again and again without fixing the actual problem. The manufacturer did absolutely nothing to remedy the defective item and accepted the retailers justification for never having fix the problem in the first place. Do not buy from this manufacturer. Get a Samsung or a speed queen.

When new everything was fine for the first 2 years then there was the whole 2 cycle to dry . Apparently, the bushings started to wear out only to find out.It was more than the bushings.It was the heat shield and the drum.The thin metal holding the drum fractured in several places creating damage to the clothes In three hundred dollars in parts to repair

This dryer functions very well overall. It dries all of the laundry in a timely manner. Pros: the heating element type seems long lasting compared to my previous dryers and the lint trap actually catches lint. Cons: the drum is not supported by four rollers (two in front and two in back) lime my previous dryers were. Instead there is a spindle with a roller bushing supporting the rear center of the drum and the front just rides on two Teflon strips, two bearing plates (friction pads) and two felt strips. After a year and a half of use the dryer was squealing very bad. I have already had to tear the dryer apart and replace these components (about $65 in just parts). If I can help it, my next dryer will have the original for rollers again instead of this friction glide design.

Less than 3 years of life and even with a 1st year repair that the drive belt replacement / upgrade that the repairman said was common due to the cheap one installed by default. He even keeps belts in the car and had one available for our dryer to stop the excessive high pitch squeaking of the drum turning. Now, like other reviews online have noted the 3 screws that attach the vent plate to the rear of the drum are POOR quality and meant to fail based on the design for ™Planned Obselence™ - ™This ensures that devices™"such as smartphones, appliances, or hardware™"stop functioning optimally or break down entirely within a few years, forcing consumers to purchase replacements or upgrades rather than keeping them for the long term (per Google definition).™ Why not 4 screw mounting points? Why not reinforced, sturdier metal at the mounting area or a mounting plate?

We purchased the dryer new in Oct. 2025. Had to have it repaired with new pulleys, new belts , new brackets and a new motor on 4 different occasions. This began January 2 of 2026 and we finally got a replacement dryer today (5-19-2026). I have talk to many GE and Home Depot representative and received poor customer service. If this replacement machine lasts any length of time I will definitely not purchase another GE product.

I purchased this washer and dryer set Black Friday 2025. I spent time debating which manufacturer, as we had LG for the last 10 years. After 6 months of use, everything was working fine until my wife said the dryer wouldn™™t start. After troubleshooting, I found the red and orange wires connected at the incoming power terminal block had melted. I didn™™t want to wait on warranty, so I took it apart. The drive belt had semi-torn apart and wrapped itself around the motor shaft. This caused the motor to pull high amps for a short period of time, but my 30A breaker didn™™t trip. Thank god it didn™™t start a fire. I replaced the belt and terminal strip, fixed the electrical wire/connectors and put it back together. I am engineer, so was able to figure it out. I know my product is not under warranty now after my repairs, but frankly the warranty process probably would have been denied, plus the time to get service and paying for trip/repair charges, I™™m sure I would have been $400-$500 out of pocket. I am unimpressed with the quality. There was no error messages that indicated why my dryer wouldn™™t start. The only reason the motor wouldnt start is because of a drive pulley safety switch, and the machine didn™™t tell me anything to indicate the issue. Probably not buying GE appliances in the future. This was supposed to be a premier product and price tags was indicative of this. I do not think it is worth the high dollar, I™™d go with LG or Samsung next time.

If I could give it a negative star I would. The dryer was one year old when it started to leak water. So much water I had a flooded utility room. Now it is doing it again. Every towel in the house is needed to soak up the water. Water is leaking out of the bottom of the dryer. I will never purchase another GE appliance again. A repair man is on the way. Just to walk in my house it will cost me 117. This is a piece of junk.

While the dryer works very well and I like how I can set my preferences, the sound at the end of the cycle is barely audible. It's not a buzzer or a song as I've had on other dryers, but a barely audible sound (same sound as when moving the dial). There is also no Air option, though there is a no heat option on most cycles.

Very nice dyer. Hold a lot and does dry the clothes. It is electric and it seems to take longer to dry my clothes then my previous dryer. the clothes come out completely dry unlike my old one which sometimes twisted the clothes and had damp spots. I like the idea of the steam part, haven't used it yet, but I could definitely see myself using it soon. Overall, a good dryer. I hope it last as long as my previous GE dryer - 12+ years.

The worst dryer ever. We are in the process of returning this for another brand. The lint system is awful and vent got clogged, our appliance place replaced the entire dryer because it wouldn't dry. I honestly don™™t even know how to properly word how frustrated I am ™" to say that I am dissatisfied or unhappy is truly an understatement. I purchased a brand-new GE Profile dryer from Home Depot in January. It was delivered on January 31, 2026, and by February 25, 2026 ™" less than one month later ™" the dryer was already broken. While drying a simple, normal load of laundry, the drum became disassembled. I contacted Home Depot immediately, only to be told that because the appliance was within the first year, it was GE™™s responsibility to repair it. They provided me with GE™™s phone number. Since the dryer broke after hours, I had to wait until the following day to call. When I spoke with a GE representative, I was informed that they could not send anyone out for eight days. Eight days without a dryer that is less than a month old. When the service technician finally arrived (and to be clear, he was very kind and helpful), he determined that the entire drum needs to be replaced ™" on a dryer that isn™™t even a month old. To make matters worse, the replacement part will not be available for another week. So now I am looking at nearly two full weeks without a dryer ™" a brand-new dryer that I purchased from Home Depot and GE with the expectation that it would function properly. This is not a small inconvenience. A major appliance should not fail within weeks of delivery, and customers should not be left without a solution for this long. Extremely disappointed in both the product quality and the resolution process

I think it is cheaply made. You only allow 48 hours to return and people don™™t have the different types of laundry within 48 hours. Comforters take 2 1 hour cycles on bulk to dry. Sweat shirts mixed in with jeans are still damp. Too much technology for a simple task of drying clothes. Also, there is a pile of lint forming at the bottom of the lint screen where it rests in the dryer. Now I have to figure out how to get it out. What do you think the life expectancy is for this dryer? 2years? Maybe 3? Also, when asked about delivery it also asks about installation™¦it™™s not installed unless you pay extra!

This dryer work for a month. Stopped drying. And can™™t even get anyone out here to look at it or fix it! The third party company to handle customer service keeps giving us the run around. Finally got an appointment for someone to come out. No one showed up. Finally have a second appointment set up, waiting to see if this new service company will show up. This dryer is not worth the headache, nor is trying to deal with GE or the customer service.

The capacity of the dryer is amazing. The reduced static is amazing. We really like the steam feature. The noise from the dryer is very quiet. We like the amount of energy that it use
